Our owners and founders (Nathan Ledoux and his wife Erica Ledoux) provide boarding in a small kennel on their personal 6 acre property.

 

We keep the dogs active, and outside as much as possible so that each dog spends minimal time in the kennel

 How do we tailor the experience to the dog?

​

Each new dog is evaluated and specifically tested the first day or two in order to help us in understanding them and their needs. Whether they need lots of activity, confidence building, or solitude and quiet.

Some of our clients

One German Shepherd that comes in, is a very nervous fearful dog, she has struggled to relax, but since bonding with 7-year-old Asher, she has mostly opened up and enjoys playing with and following him. Under Nate and Erica’s close supervision, he primarily handles feeds and fulfills her needs.

​

A medium-size mixed breed that frequents our facility, used to be very nervous, and shut down. We matched her with one of our own confident dogs of similar age, that she took to right away. After a few days paired in the yard, she opened up and now plays with the rest of the pack. She also learned pretty quick not to jump on the kids, which has enhanced her experience as she can now be out running in the yard with our children to play with as well.

Another dog, that frequently boards with us, is an old farm collie, that enjoys being around livestock. For her we give access to one of the areas that allows her to interact with ours through the fence yet still participate with other dogs and our kids.

A special needs dog, that comes occasionally, is a blind Great Dane who is very edgy and jumpy with lots of activity and noise. To adjust to his needs, he comes out when other routy dogs are put away for nap time, and the children are inside. We have walked the fence with him many times to help him learn and memorize the boundaries. Our older quiet dogs offer socialization and presence, while the quiet minimal interaction time allows him to feel safe secure, and predictable.

One of our boarders is a hound, who enjoys playing with our pack, but as hounds will do, he wants to get out and follow his nose. To keep him safe and in the yard, he is heavily supervised and distracted by Nate or Erica to minimize the risk of him getting bored and searching for ways out to chase the wild critters.

Best of all is when we get the well-balanced outgoing dogs, that not only enjoy their stay, but can help bring other boarders out of their shell. Like one Rottweiler who comes occasionally. Because of her well-balanced nature and training, she helps us evaluate and engage nervous new boarders. She loves the children, enjoys sitting on the patio with us, and absolutely burns herself out playing with two of our young dogs.
